DAY 30 PROMPT – Communicating With The Inner You

You’ve spent the entire month keeping a journal, digging into different issues. Some of the journaling may have been light-hearted, while other days you might have been forced to think about things you prefer to avoid.

For the final day of the challenge, think about how this month has been. What were the highs and lows of communicating with your inner self? Did you listen? Did you follow your instincts when it came to writing things down?

Do you feel little bit more self-aware? Do you feel like you know why you do the things you do, or why you make the decisions you make? Do you have a little clearer idea of what you want?

DAY 29 PROMPT – The Happiness List

Make a list of everything that makes you happy. These can be little things or big things. Just keep going until you have at least 100 items. It might be your  favourite cup of coffee, or your favourite chocolate, or spending quality time with someone special, or going to your favourite place. It could be anything.

Happiness doesn’t have to a permanent state. In fact, that’s pretty much impossible. Instead focus on everything that brings you moments of happiness, however fleeting they may be.

DAY 28 PROMPT – A Letter From Your Future Self

No journaling challenge would be complete without projecting yourself into the future. Write a letter from the perspective of your future self, from 10 to 20 years ahead. If you are 30 or under, I recommend writing a letter from your self who is 20 years older.

Get your older self to tell you all about their life. What are they doing? How did their decisions turn out? What are the good things in their life? Capture all the details.

Once you finish that letter, keep it as your roadmap, because if you want to get to where your future self is, you need to start taking actions today, and making decisions that will get you there.

DAY 27 PROMPT – People You Turn To

Everyone needs someone. It doesn’t matter how strong or independent you are, the fact is at certain times, we all wish for help, even if it’s just someone to hold us and say, “Everything will be okay.”

Today, journal about who are the people you turn to when you need help. It could be different people for different things. For example, if you need help of a more practical nature, such as heavy lifting, or driving, or fixing broken items in your house, you might turn to a more handy friend or a family member. If you need emotional support, it could be someone else. And for all emergencies, it could be someone – perhaps a spouse or a parent – who you know will be there for you, no matter what.

Think about all the people who are always there to help you in their own way, and write about them.

Then later, if you feel up to it, surprise them with a Thank You note or similar Thank You gesture.

DAY 25 PROMPT – A Letter to the Universe

For today’s journaling, write a letter to the universe.

Seriously.

Whether you look at this from a religious perspective, a spiritual perspective, or a scientific perspective….the universe exists. Write a letter, and communicate with it. See how you connect.

Don’t force any style or content. Just start with, “Dear Universe,” and keep writing. Write until the letter comes to a natural end.

By the end of it you should have a good idea of what type of connection you have with the universe.

Do you even know, or do you merely exist day to day?

DAY 23 PROMPT – Celebrate Your Uniqueness

Today you are you

that is truer than true.

There is no one alive

that is youer than you.

– Dr. Seuss

Dr. Seuss delivered a lot of wisdom, so much so that his books should be read by all adults. There is no one on this planet, or in the entire universe in fact, you is youer than you. For today’s entry, celebrate your uniqueness.

What makes you unique? What makes you YOU? Focus on the aspects of your life, and personality that you don’t want to change.

DAY 21 PROMPT – Happiness

Abraham Lincoln said:

Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.

Do you agree? Do you think that your current happiness or unhappiness is based on how you choose to feel?

If yes, what do you do to overcome negative feelings?

If not, who or what do you hold responsible for your happiness?
