I want to win a place in the ‘Who Am I?’ course because I believe discovering core values, beliefs, fears and dreams that drive my decisions and reactions will help me will help me find an authentic voice in my writing and direct the definition of how I will fulfill my calling as an encourager of creative expression and peer counselor for recovery. This is a journey I am eager to make!

  2. I would love to win a place in this course. I am turning 40 this June and I have been a stay-at-home mother for the past 15 years. I’m looking to go back into the workforce, but I also have this strong desire to write. My husband and I sacrificed one income for years, but it’s getting harder and harder to do so. Now that my children are older, I feel like I should be contributing financially, but I feel so out of the loop. I want to do something I enjoy, but I also want to do something that can provide an income and take the weight off my husband a bit. Finding myself has become more vital now than ever. I feel that this course might help. Thank you for the opportunity!

  3. I ask myself, why do I want to win this, I don’t really know. All I know is that I’m trying to be positive and hope and feel this is something that could help me in my quest to know myself. I am just so lost, when I think I know myself, I pause and say hmmmm if I did, I would know what I want and don’t want etc. See, I’m rambling. I just need some help and I think going through this course will make a big difference.

      Wanting to be positive is a good start. I hope you are already keeping a journal. That will an invaluable tool to guide you out of this “lost” feeling. Often, it may not even be a permanent, but journaling will give you space to “ramble” which is essential before you come out on the other side.

  4. I am 52 (had a birthday last week!) and I still don’t know what I want to do when I grow up. I still don’t know who I am. I had counselling for a year in 2011 after my mother died. The conclusion was that I grew up as the “obedient child”. I have spent my life hiding who I am, stamping it down so that it doesn’t impede on other people, always being obedient to others’ feelings. I want to know who and what I am. I think it’s about time. I’m in the menopause and I feel as though I’ve lost all that was creative in me; I feel as though I’ve lost me. So that is why I would like to do this course. Thank you for reading this.

      Belated Happy Birthday! You are right….it’s time to bring out the real you! Whether or not you win this course, I hope you will focus on the journey of self-discovery. Start with journaling – there are a lot of free resources available including this site that will guide you. I wish you all the luck.

  5. I would like to win this place because Im in a rut. Totally. For the past ten years Ive been lost. I recently thought my life was coming together, I got a new job, was really excited – then my mental health crashed again and Im back to start. I feel untethered and lost and cut off from myself. So thats why :D

      It’s so easy to fall into that rut. Most of the time, by the time we realise we are in a rut, we are waist-deep into it. I’ve been there. I’ve also been through the illusion of “things coming together”. I wish you all the luck in this journey, and keep focusing on self-discovery.

  6. I truly want 2013 to be the year of change for me. One major component is losing weight but I can’t stay focused. This course would be a great vehicle to get to the core of the challenge. It’s a tough journey but I know it will be worth it.

      That’s a great plan! The Year of Change. Instead of thinking about losing weight, focus on small steps – such as walking everyday or eating healthy everyday etc. Stay focused. You still have 9 months in 2013 in which to achieve the changes you want. Good luck with the contest.

  8. I think that now I am ready to truly discover “who I am.” I know that I have hidden some things and kept some voices quiet in my lifetime. I am a bit anxious but ready to discover all that is me.

      You hit right on the mark. It’s so important being “ready” for self-discovery. I know exactly where you are coming from, in terms of hidden things and quiet voices. It’s a major point of growth that you feel ready now. Anxiety is normal, and unless you go through some discomfort and anxiety, there will be no growth.   9. It isn’t difficult for me to know this answer. I am 66 and have been on two differnt cancer journeys since 2010. They have changed me a lot. I feel an urgent need to discover who I have become since then and try to live what remains of my life true to myself.

  10. i am 46 years old, and I’ve spent a long time being the one who compromises, in order to “not rock the boat”. It has gotten to the point that I’ve become so closed off, even to myself. I am on a journey to discover who am i? how do i journal without sounding negative and whiny. What can I learn from my own journal? Can I reawaken my subconscious to speak to me, after ignoring her for so long. I really, really NEED and want to win this course!

      It’s time to rock the boat!! It happens so often, and way more often to women. I hope you have already started available resources on Kaizen Journaling website. There is material there already about infusing positivity in your journals, so I suggest you start there. I recently wrote an article about “Finding Patterns” which I think will also be of use to you. Keep journaling. Keep searching. Good luck with the contest.

  11. I have been through some dramatic changes in recent years, most notably becoming a mother. I knew who I was before everything changed and now I’m not so sure. I would like to win a place on this course to figure out who I am again, as I am no longer who I was.
